WHY YOU COLLECT VINTAGE SURFBOARDS (view talk story)
Vintage Surfboard Collectors

Surf Museum Hawaii is coming soon to the birthplace of the true Sport of Kings (and Queens). We are finalizing the details on our location and will update you by September 2024. For now, check out articles below regarding surf history and culture, and get a taste of what's to come for 2025. We'll be introducing interactive exhibits, a retail center, and SURF CINEMA every evening of the week!

For the first time in decades we (Hawaiians) feel validated for our contribution to the world of surfing. Mahalo SMH!

About Surf Museum Hawaii

Honoring the Legacy

Surf Museum Hawaii was established to honor the fact that Hawaii is the birthplace of surfing. Our permanent exhibit takes visitors on a journey from the earliest recorded history of wave riding in Polynesia through to Hawaii's undeniable influence on global surf culture of today. Meanwhile, we bring in quarterly exhibits to showcase the arts, culture, lifestyle, and history of the Sport of Kings (and Queens).
